Gentamicin Sulfate BP
Broad Spectrum Aminoglycoside Antibiotic

Composition:
Each gm powder contains Gentamicin Sulfate BP equivalent
to Gentamicin 200 mg.
 

Pharmacology
Gentamicin is a broad spectrum aminoglycoside antibiotic which is highly effective against many strains of Gram Negative and Gram Positive micro-organisms such as E.coli, Salmonella, Pasteurella, Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Listeria, Pseudomonus, etc.
The oral Gentamicin is slowly and poorly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract hence it concentrates in the intestine that shows its antibacterial action locally and leading to a high efficacy against the bacterial gastro enteric infections.

Indications
Poultry:
Cases of diarrhea and bacterial enteric infection caused by E.coli, Salmonella, Pasteurella etc. For reduction of early chick mortality (due to bacterial infections) in the newly hatched chicks.
Cattle, Goats & Sheep:
Cases of Enteritis, Scours, Bloody diarrhea due to E.coli, Salmonella etc. and vibrionic dysentery. Prevention from early mortality of neonates, young animals and weaner.

Dosage and Administration
Treatment:
Poultry: 1 gm per 2 liters of drinking water for 3-5 days.
Cattle, Sheep & Goat (and off-spring)
3 gm per 20 kg body weight twice daily for 3-5 days (30 mg/ kg Body Weight). Or advised by the registered veterinarian.

Withdrawal Period: Meat 7 days and Milk 2 days.

Storage: Store at below 30o C in a dry place protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
